Yep , you read it and sadly it's true. After a long time ,
numerous gigs, including supporting a few 70s legends, two albums and two
EPs,
a BBC Radio session and interview and being introduced on stage by
BBC's Stuart Maconie we are doing our last gig!!! Warwick and Ian have decided to hang up the guitar and drums, leaving myself, Ali and Steve to see what the
future brings. So what better way to say goodbye than at The Robin -
Bilston, West MIds. We're playing a support slot to legendary 60s
rockers The Zombies on Thursday May 10th 2012. The
Zombies had a hit with She's Not There (covered by Santana) and they'll
be doing the hits of Rod Argent (God Gave Rock'n'Roll To You , Hold
YOur Head Up) and Colin Blunstone (Say You Don't Mind, What Becomes Of
The Broken Hearted) who are the leaders of the band. I'm sure you'll
hear a smattering of classic 60s pop from their legendary album "Odyssey
& Oracle" too. We'll be on at 8pm , so if you're thinking of coming ,please be there before then. Doors are 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 (saving on the door price) from me by reply to this mail or from mark@valuablefools.co.uk We
do hope you can join us for the farewell gig, I'd also like to say
thanks to anyone of you that's come to a gig, brought a CD or just
encouraged us through the years. It's been a
pleasure. Hope to see you at the Robin on May 10th. cheers Mark

rather spendid gig last night despite many "jazz" moments by Mark. Two
encores - Didn't they have home to go to? Set: (not in order)Gone, Lost
+ Found, Wailing Wall , ICGT SLeep, Do Anything You Wanna do, Ice And
Fire, Don't get Me Started . Winter Song, I Won't Forget Her , Hanging
On The Telephone , Run Too Far , Halleujah, Walls , Big Dumb Song
,Pretty Little Head , Bringing The Blue Sky Back. Ah well blame the jazz moments on getting my set list printed in a variety of font sizes, obviously some tot small! It was great hat we had some new folks turn yup and heck even give us a compliment or two. Good support from Midnight Bonfires ( a bit less Neil Young and a bit more indie I thought). I really felt it was good to bring back a few oldies into the set and play a headliner for a change. A good night.

The end of 2010 saw us supporting legendary 70's
folk prog rockers The Strawbs at The Robin2. It also neatly co-incided
with the release of our first EP. The Origami EP , with tracks like "I Can't Go To Sleep ", " Lost And Found", "Ice and Fire" and "Bringing The Blue Sky Back" and a lovely hand made cover by Mr Rushbo (such talent!). You can get a copy by emailing me, mark@valuablefools.co.uk . We also have some exciting new material waiting to be recorded.
Whether this will be for the difficult third album or a set of EPs or
downloads we don't know. What I do know is we have a return slot supporting the ever wonderful Stackridge at The Robin2 on May 5th. Hope to see you there. cheers Mark
